Technologies at Our Dental Clinic

At our dental office in Aurora, the technology we use helps to inform treatment planning and make your dental appointments run smoothly. Technology, including dental lasers, can also be used to help us complete certain dental procedures.

Our exam rooms feature monitors that we can use to display your dental X-rays and scans. This helps us show you any issues in your mouth and walk you through your treatment plan.

Our goal is to provide patients with dental care while making sure they are fully informed about their oral health. Dental technology helps us do that.

Oral Cancer Screening Device

The VELscope® is an oral cancer screening device that helps the dentist identify abnormalities and diseases in the mouth, such as cancerous and precancerous lesions. Using fluorescence visualization technology, it can be performed in your dentist’s office during routine exams and under normal lighting conditions in about two minutes.

Dental Lasers

In dentistry, lasers (focused light beams) can be used in a variety of soft and hard tissue procedures. They allow our dentists to perform dental procedures with less pain and fewer medical interventions.  At Aurora Dentistry, our dentists use lasers to remove overgrown or decayed tissue, to reshape the gums, to harden dental restorations quickly, or to whiten teeth.

Panoramic X-Rays

Panoramic X-rays allow your dentist to create a single image of your entire mouth. This image is a flat representation of the teeth, upper and lower jaws, temporomandibular joints (TMJ), and the nasal and sinus structures. Panoramic X-rays are often used to help plan treatments for dentures, braces, extractions and implants.

Digital X-Rays

Digital X-rays use digital sensors instead of traditional photographic X-ray film. They produce highly detailed computer images of the teeth and gums, as well as other oral structures and conditions, allowing your dentist to examine parts of the mouth that are not visible to the naked eye.
