Our dedicated team is compassionate and understands the significance and importance of good oral hygiene and health. Unfortunately, many patients have such a deep fear of dentistry and it can prevent them from ever seeing a dentist, who puts them in jeopardy of overlooking a minor, more easily fixed problem that will create more serious issues in the future. Luckily, we now have numerous options available to assuage alleviate the fear often associated with dental work. Whether we just need to help the patient take the edge off with “laughing gas” for someone with slight jitters or “sleep dentistry” for those who dread the dentist, we have the solutions that will be right for you.

Oral sedation

Oral sedation is a effective option for patients who are nervous and could benefit from the relaxing, sedative effects of Valium prescribed at the proper dosage to induce sleep and comfort to make the experience less troubling. This form of sedation assists in mitigating anxiety while simultaneously providing conscious relaxation throughout any dental procedures.

IV sedation (Intravenous) and general anesthesia

At Aurora Dentistry, our on site anesthesiologist, Dr. Stephen Ing assists us with all forms of sedation, for both deep conscious and general anesthesia. Both of these methods of administration of sedation offer a more relaxing and comfortable experience for your visit. IV sedation allows you to remain conscious during the procedure so that you can communicate and co-operate with with the Dentist as needed. Some patients prefer complete general anesthesia rendering them unconscious throughout the entire dental appointment and any procedures so they can wake up at ease.
