Porcelain and plastic replacement options:
Porcelain or plastic?
While materials can be used, we recommend porcelain because it is a much stronger, custom fabricated restoration providing both durability and strength to your remaining tooth structure. On the other hand, plastic can be a great option for replacing your small fillings, however, when used for large restorations, it doesn't tend last as long before needing to be replaced. Eventually the tooth will require a porcelain restoration which is why we endorse and recommend going with porcelain as the most cost effective long-term option.
