Filling replacements

Say goodbye to silver mercury amalgam fillings!

Are you truly unhappy with the physical appearance of the silver-mercury amalgam fillings in your mouth? Are you aware that your old fillings are also a health concern and can lead to tooth loss as well as other health conditions and diseases? There been extensive research showing that silver-mercury amalgam fillings do affect your overall health adversely. Over time these old fillings will leak which allows cavities to form underneath. This will eventually cause damage to the structure of your teeth, leading to not only cracked teeth but possibly the need for root canal treatment and crown therapy also. Silver-mercury amalgam fillings affect the gum tissue, causing unsightly and permanent staining of the gums; this is known as “amalgam tattoos.”
For this reason, we offer a myriad of the highest quality, metal-free fillings, including: white plastic fillings, porcelain onlays, crowns, and also bridges. Advancements in available materials allow us to transform your smile with beautifuly natural-looking and long-lasting end results. Bonding the new restorations to your teeth allows us to create a stronger, healthier smile for you.

Porcelain and plastic replacement options:

Porcelain or plastic?
While materials can be used, we recommend porcelain because it is a much stronger, custom fabricated restoration providing both durability and strength to your remaining tooth structure. On the other hand, plastic can be a great option for replacing your small fillings, however, when used for large restorations, it doesn't tend last as long before needing to be replaced. Eventually the tooth will require a porcelain restoration which is why we endorse and recommend going with porcelain as the most cost effective long-term option.
